Karin Sjodin wins NCAA Fall Preview
September 23, 2004 | Cowgirl Golf
Sjödin carded a four-under-par 67 during the first round on Monday, a round which included seven birdies in eight holes down the stretch. She equalled that total on Tuesday with another 67, shooting five birdies and just one bogey during the round.
Sjödin and Stahle were tied entering Wednesday's final round, and while the Cowgirl struggled to a one-over 72, the Sun Devil bogeyed three holes and birdied just one to fall one stroke short of the individual title.
Cowgirl Annie Thurman finished in the top five with a one-over 214. The senior from Highland, Utah, was consistent throughout the tournament, shooting even par during the final round.
OSU finished third as a team behind Duke and Washington on the same course which will host the 2005 NCAA Championships next May.
