Cowgirls finish sixth at Dick McGuire Invitational

Sjödin finished second, two strokes ahead of New Mexico's Kailin Downs (215). Cowgirl Annie Thurman finished with a 216, tied for fourth with Pepperdine's Rachel Kyono and Stacy Lewis of Arkansas.
As a team, Oklahoma State finished sixth, one stroke behind the Razorbacks. Georgia won the team title with an 874, followed by New Mexico (881), Pepperdine (882) and BYU (888).
It appeared that Sjödin would have a difficult final round, despite shooting under par for the first two days. She started on hole No. 4, and began the round with back-to-back bogeys. She birdied No. 10, but carded a double bogey on hole No. 12.
A birdie on the 13th hole was negated by a bogey on No. 17, but back-to-back eagles on Nos. 18 and 1 got Sjödin to one under. She finished the round with a double bogey on the par-three second and a birdie on No. 3.
Oklahoma State will return to action on Sept. 20, when the Cowgirls compete in the NCAA Fall Preview in Sunriver, Ore.
