Cowgirl Golfers Finish Fourth at Bryan National Collegiate

The Cowgirls were led by sophomore Karin Sjodin who finished in a tie for third with a one-over 217, including a three-under 69 in the second round. Freshman Jennifer Karr fired a seven-over 223 to finish in a tie for 19th. Fellow freshmen Candy Herrera shot a 226 and Ashley Knoll was just one shot back with a 227. Junior Annie Thurman rounded out the scoring for the Cowgirls with a final round 73 to finish with a three-round total of 230.
Duke swept top honors taking the team title with 869, while Elizabeth Janangelo took home individual honors with a two-under 214. Host-school Wake Forest finished 14 strokes back with an 883.
The Cowgirls have a couple of weeks off before beginning play in the Big 12 Championships Apr. 23-25 in College Station, Texas.
