Cowgirl Golfers win one, lose one at Hooters Match Play

The Cowgirls dropped three of five matches to No. 3 seed Arizona State in the semifinals. OSU junior Karin Sjödin lost her match with Louise Stahle, a freshman from Sweden, 5 and 3. The pair led the Swedish National Team to the team title at the Women's World Team Championships just three weeks ago.
OSU senior Annie Thurman defeated Erin Tone, 6 and 4, while Cowgirl Candie Herrera won her match against Sun Devil Brooke Todare, 5 and 4. Sophomore Mallorie Underwood lost to Tiffany Tavee, 4 and 2, while fellow Cowgirl sophomore Ali Griffin fell to Charmaine Erasmus, 4 and 3.
In the quarterfinal match Monday morning, three Cowgirls won while one tied in a 3-1-1 decision over No. 10 seed Florida. Sjödin won her match with Sandra Gal, 3 and 2, while Thurman defeated Tiffany Chudy, 4 and 3.
Herrera won her match against Andrea Vander Lende, 1 up. Griffin and Florida's Eleanor Tucker tied, and the Gators' Whitney Myers defeated Underwood, 5 and 3.
Oklahoma State, the No. 2 seed, will play 12th-seed Arizona in the third-place match on Tuesday morning at the Mission Inn Resort.
