Cowgirl Golfers fall at Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championships

Oklahoma State's Cowgirl golf team fell to Arizona in the third-place match and finished fourth as a team here at the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Women's Championships Tuesday afternoon at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort.
Cowgirl junior Karin Sjödin won her individual match over Arizona's Miriam Kraschinski, 2 and 1, taking her biggest lead on the 17th hole of the match. Cowgirl senior Annie Thurman won her match as well, defeating Mar Garcia, 4 and 3.
Oklahoma State lost its final three matches, with Arizona's Cassandra Kirkland defeating Mallorie Underwood, 2 and 1. Whitney Welch beat Cowgirl Candie Herrera, 2 up, and Lani Elston defeated Ali Griffin, 6 and 4.
The Match Play Championship was OSU's final event of the fall season.
