Cowgirl Golfers lead Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

Cowgirl junior Karin Sjödin was the only golfer to record a sub-par score, shooting a two-under 70 during the first round. She leads a trio of golfers by three strokes. Sjödin recorded four birdies and just two bogeys during Monday's round.
Cowgirl senior Annie Thurman carded a two-over 74, and is tied for fifth with three other golfers. Junior Kyla Welsh, a native of New Zealand, is also among the top-10 golfers, shooting a three-over 75.
Pepperdine is in second place with a 298, followed by Oregon (300), USC (304) and Stanford (308). Washington is the only other team competing in the tournament ranked in the top 10, coming in at No. 2 nationally. Pepperdine is ranked 14th, and all 13 collegiate teams rank in the top-75 nationally.
The tournament will continue on Tuesday with another round of 18 holes, and conclude on Wednesday with a final round of 18.
