Freshman paces Cowgirls at NCAA Women's Golf Fall Preview

Host school Auburn sits atop the leaderboard with a team score of 286 after the first round. The Tigers are led by Nicole Hage, who is tied for second with Arizona's Cassandra Kirkland at four under par. Duke's Brittany Lang sits atop the individual leaderboard with a five-under-par 67 during Friday's round.
Cowgirl sophomore Karin Sjödin was one under on the back nine and finished with a two-over 74, good for 21st place. Junior Annie Thurman is in 40th place after she bogeyed her final three holes and finished with a four-over 76. Junior Jenny Karr was only three over after 15 holes, but had two double bogeys and finished with a 79. Freshman Ali Griffin never got on track after opening with a double bogey and finished with an 81.
The tournament will continue on Saturday with another round of 18 holes, and conclude on Sunday with a final round of 18.
