Cowgirl Golfers remain in second place at NCAA West Regional

Cowgirl freshman Karin Sjödin carded a one-under-par 71 and moved up into a tie for fifth place with fellow OSU golfer Linda Wessberg. Sjödin was as low as four under before bogeying her final three holes.
UNLV’s Sunny Oh maintained her hold on first place individually with a two-round total of 138, or six under par. Tanya Dergal of USC and Washington State’s Kim Welch are tied for second at 142, four strokes back of Oh.
Cowgirls Christi Cano and Annie Thurman are tied for 17th place in the individual standings at five-over 149. Sophomore Jenny Karr is tied for 60th place at 157.
The tournament will conclude on Saturday with a final round of 18 holes. The top-eight teams at each of three regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships that will be held May 20-23 in West Lafayette, Ind.
