Cowgirl golfers finish ninth at Auburn Tiger/Derby Invitational

Eighth-ranked Tennessee won the tournament with a team total of 871, seven strokes better than 10th-ranked Texas (878). Top-ranked Arizona finished third at 882, while fourth-ranked Duke and fifth-ranked Auburn tied for fourth with an 883.
Senior Linda Wessberg paced the Cowgirls with a 20th-place finish, shooting an eight-over-par 224 for the tournament. Wessberg finished one stroke ahead of OSU sophomores Annie Thurman and Jenny Karr, who each carded 225 for their three-round total and finished tied for 24th. Sophomore Lisa Jean finished 47th, senior Christi Cano finished 50th and freshman Karin Sjödin finished 62nd.
The Auburn Tiger/Derby Invitational was the Cowgirls’ final tournament of the fall season.
