Oklahoma State (10-6 Overall, 5-3 Big 12) was able to capitalize on its early doubles success in order to outlast Nebraska (10-7 Overall, 1-6 Big 12).
The No. 25 ranked duo of senior Linda Faltynkova and junior Katya Kolodynska picked up a dominant victory at the No. 1 position over NU's Leslie Harvey and Gitle Ostermann, 8-1. The duo has a 6-2 conference record, including 6 consecutive wins.
At the No. 2 position, senior Erin Pauchnik and sophomore Ewa Radzikowska held on to defeat Rose Kermayura and Anne Oehme, 8-6. The victory clinched the overall doubles point for the Cowgirls.
At the No. 3 slot, sophomore Ines Furtmayr and freshman Zana Masnic completed the doubles sweep by defeating Jennifer Cremieux and Rebecca Harvey, 8-5.
The match against Nebraska marked the fourth consecutive match that the Cowgirls have picked up the doubles point.
OSU once again followed its outstanding doubles performance with solid singles play.
At the No. 1 position, Faltynkova was forced to default due to a nagging injury, giving NU's Ostermann the 7-5, 2-0, medical injury default victory.
The Cowgirls would go on to win the next three singles matches to claim the overall team victory.
At the No. 2 position, senior Kate Vasylyeva defeated Leslie Harvey in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. Vasylyeva improved her Big 12 record to 6-2, including 4 straight.
Kolodynska followed suit at the No. 3 singles slot by defeating Kermayura, 6-3, 6-0.
At the No. 4 position, Radzikowska continued her dominant play by defeating Oehme in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0. The win against Nebraska was Radzikowska's tenth on the year, moving her overall record to 10-3.
Nebraska would make the final score closer by picking up victories at the No. 5 and 6 singles positions.
At the No. 5 position, NU's Pamuela Castillejos held on to beat Furtmayr, 7-5, 2-6, 1-0. At the No. 6 slot, Rebecca Harvey dropped Masnic, 6-4, 6-3.
The victory over Nebraska marks the 5th consecutive time that OSU has beat it's conference opponent. The Cowgirls own the all-time series, 23-1.
Oklahoma State will return home to host four consecutive matches.
On Thursday, April 10, the Cowgirls host Boise State at 2:00 p.m. at the DeBois Tennis Center in Stillwater, Okla.
OSU leads the all time series against Boise State, 2-0.
