Men's Netters Defeat Nebraska

OSU jumped to an early 1-0 lead after winning all three doubles matches. Junior Yevgen Bondarchuk and freshman Jiri Spousta improved to 5-0 on the season at the No. 1 doubles position after beating Nebraska's D.J. Geatz and Jacek Wolicki, 8-5.
Sophomore Boris Kuharic and freshman Juan Felipe Diaz outlasted Jose Rivera and Joerg Barthel, 9-7, at the No. 2 doubles spot. Sophomore Mark Van Elden and senior Jiri Jezek defeated Florian Preissle and Cesar Vargas, 8-5, at the No. 3 doubles position.
Van Elden won his fourth singles match of the season at the No. 1 by defeating Wolicki, 6-3, 6-2. Bondarchuk improved to 5-0 on the season by beating Preissler at the No. 2 singles position, 6-2, 7-6. Kuharic defeated Barthel in straight sets at the No. 3 singles position, 6-2, 6-2.
Freshman Tomas Bohunicky won his fifth match of the season by defeating Geatz at the No. 4 singles position, 6-4, 6-3. Jezek defeated Joel Reckeway, 6-0, 6-1, at the No. 5 spot. The lone Nebraska win came at the No. 6 singles spot where Nebraska's Patrick Kennedy defeated Spousta, 6-4, 6-1.
The Cowboys will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Waco, Texas to take on the Baylor Bears at 2 p.m.
