Cowgirl Golfers Remain In Ninth Place At Derby Invitational

Cowgirl seniors Linda Wessberg and Christi Cano each recorded 73s for OSU, while sophomore Jenny Karr also carded a 73 playing as an individual. Sophomore Annie Thurman shot a 76, but is still in 11th place, pacing the Cowgirls.
Auburn, the host school, and Texas are tied for second place, two strokes back of the Volunteers. Arizona is in fourth place with a 589, and Duke rounds out the top-five teams with a 593.
Georgia's Summer Sirmons sits atop the individual leaderboard with a three-under-par 141. Behind Thurman's one-over-par 146, Karr is in 17th place at 149, while Wessberg is in 24th with a 150. Cano is in 54th place with a 156, and sophomore Lisa Jean is in 59th place with a 158. Freshman Karin Sjödin is in 62nd place at 159.
The tournament will conclude on Sunday with a final round of 18 holes.
