Cowgirls Finish Ninth At Lady Puerto Rico Classic

San Juan, Puerto Rico - Oklahoma State's Cowgirl golf team shot a three-round total of 911, just 10 strokes out of second place, but finished ninth here at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic this weekend. Sophomore Jenny Karr paced the Cowgirls with a 14th place finish after shooting a one-under-par 71 during the first round.
Duke won the team title by 29 strokes, outscoring second-place Georgia with an 872. Georgia shot 901, while Florida finished third with a 903. Tulsa finished fourth with a 905, while Texas and Kent State shot a 907 and finished tied for fifth.
The Oklahoma State duo of Annie Thurman and Christi Cano tied for 23rd place with a three-round score of 228. Senior Linda Wessberg tied for 36th with a 231, while freshman Karin Sj?din carded a three day total of 245.
The Cowgirls will return to action March 24 when they compete in the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas.
