Cowgirl Golfers move up two spots to fifth place

Freshman golfer Ashley Knoll carded an even-par 72 and is even for the tournament after two days here at the NCAA Fall Preview at the Grand National Lake Course. The Woodlands, Texas, native was one under before bogeying the final hole and is tied for sixth place individually, pacing the Cowgirls, who are in fifth place as a team.

Oklahoma State shot a 298 on Saturday, three strokes better than Friday's 301. Arizona sits atop the leaderboard with a two-day total of 581, or five over par, while Auburn is two strokes back at 583. Duke is third at 585, while Oklahoma is fourth at 592. OSU is fifth at 599.

The Wildcats also have the top-two individual golfers. Cassandra Kirkland followed up yesterday's 68 with a 72 on Saturday to lead with a four-under 140. Erica Blasberg is second at 141. Duke's Brittany Lang and Elizabeth Janangelo are third and fourth, respectively, with UCLA's Charlotte Mayorkas tied with Janangelo at 143.

OSU sophomore Karin Sjodin is tied for 23^rd at 149 following a 75 on Saturday, while junior Annie Thurman is tied for 33^rd after carding a 75 as well. Junior Jenny Karr is tied for 49^th, while freshman Ali Griffin is in sole possession of 88^th place.

The tournament will conclude on Sunday with a final round of 18 holes.
