Cowgirl Golfers finish sixth at Tar Heel Invitational

Cowgirl junior Jenny Karr carded a two-over-par 74 during Sunday's round and finished tied for 11th individually. Freshman Mallory Underwood, who began the tournament with an 83, recorded a pair of 73s on Saturday and Sunday and finished in 20th place. Fellow freshman Ashley Knoll shot a 231 for the tournament and finished 24th.
Junior Annie Thurman rebounded from an 84 on Friday with a 73 on Saturday and a 76 on Sunday to finish in 27th place. Sophomore Karin Sjödin shot a 236 and finished 31st.
Duke, which won the team title by 49 strokes, had all five golfers finish in the top 10. Leigh Anne Hardin and Elizabeth Janangelo tied for the individual title with tournament scores of seven-under 209.
Oklahoma State will return to action when the Cowgirls travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to compete in teh Mercedes Benz Collegiate on Oct. 19-21.
