Cowgirl Golfers Take 22-Stroke Lead Into Final Round

Tanagura, Japan - Oklahoma State freshman Karin Sj?din continued to impress, shooting a 69 to follow up her school-record 65 during the second round of the TOPY Cup here Wednesday. The Cowgirls as a team shot their second-consecutive sub-par round, carding a five-under-par 283.
Senior Christi Cano, who shot a first-round 77, returned to her old form by recording a three-under 69 as well, moving from 22nd to sixth place in the individual standings. Sj?din sits atop the leaderboard with a two-round total of 134, or 10-under par. Sophomore Annie Thurman is in second place after shooting back-to-back 71s.
Senior Linda Wessberg is in a tie for sixth place with a 146, while sophomore Jenny Karr, after carding a 73 on Tuesday, scored an 83 on Wednesday and dropped to 21st place.
The first two rounds of the TOPY Cup mark the first time OSU has had back-to-back sub-par rounds as a team. In fact, two of the three best rounds in Cowgirl golf history have come this week at the tournament.
The tournament will conclude on Thursday with a final round of 18 holes.
