Cowgirl Golfers Finish Third At TRW Regional Challenge

Oklahoma State's Cowgirl golf team finished third as a team here at the TRW Regional Challenge Wednesday afternoon, but it was junior Christi Cano's runnerup finish that aided the Cowgirls in a jump from fifth place after two round. Cano shot a two-under-par 69 in the final round to propel OSU.
Tulsa won the team title with a three-round total of 870. Texas finished second at 893, outscoring Oklahoma State by seven strokes. Arizona State finished fourth with a 902, while Michigan rounded out the top five with a 905.
Arizona's Lorena Ochoa, the Player of the Year last season as a freshman, won the individual title with a seven-under-par 206. Cano tied Georgia's Angela Jerman for second with a one-under 212, while Stacy Prammanasudh of Tulsa finished fourth with a 214. Wake Forest's Nuria Clau finished fifth with a 215.
Cowgirl junior Linda Wessberg tied for 18th with a three-round total of 225, while senior Emma Zackrisson was not far behind with a 228, good for 26th place. Freshman Annie Thurman shot a 235, while Jennifer Karr rounded out the Cowgirl scorers with a 242.
Oklahoma State will return to action on Feb. 25, when the Cowgirls travel to Tucson, Ariz., to compete in the Wildcat Invitational.
