Cowgirls Advance To NCAA Championships

Oklahoma State's Cowgirl Golf team will travel to Orlando, Fla., next week to compete in the NCAA Championships, May 22-25, on the El Campeon Golf Course on the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. The tournament will consist of four rounds of 18 holes. Oklahoma State advanced to the Championships after a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Central Regional in West Lafayette, Ind. The top eight teams from each of three regionals advanced to the NCAA Championships. Those teams are: Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, California, Duke, Georgia, Kent State, Louisiana State, Louisville, Michigan State, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Purdue, San Jose State, South Florida, Stanford, Texas, Texas Christian, Tulsa, UCLA, USC and Washington.
OKLAHOMA STATE AT NCAA'S
This appearance marks the 10th time that Oklahoma State has advanced to the
NCAA Championships as a team since it was introduced in 1982. OSU's last
appearance was in 1999 at the Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Okla., where the
Cowgirls finished 12th. Oklahoma State's top finish has been third on two
occasions, first in 1982 and again in 1989. OSU has finished in the top 10
six times. To the right is a look at all of the Cowgirls' appearances at the
NCAA Championships.
TEE TIMES
On Tuesday, May 22, the Cowgirls will begin teeing off at 1:10 p.m. EST. On
Wednesday, May 23, they will start at 8:20 a.m. Beginning with Thursday's
round, they will tee off depending upon their standing in the tournament.
