Cowgirl Golf To Compete In Central Regionals

Stillwater, Okla. - Oklahoma State's 10th-ranked Cowgirl golf team, fresh off a tournament win at the Big 12 Championships, has been selected to compete in the NCAA Central Regional Golf Championships, May 10-12, at the Kampen Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ind. OSU was ranked as the third-best team in the Central Region.
The Cowgirls are coming off their second Big 12 title in three years, including an individual medal for senior Maria Bod?n. Bod?n won the championship with a 20-foot birdie putt on the first hole of a three-person playoff. Other members of the squad that will compete at the regional are junior Emma Zackrisson and sophomores Christi Cano, Julie Jacques and Linda Wessberg.
OSU will be one of 21 teams entered in the tournament. Other teams competing in the Central Regional will be: No. 8 New Mexico State, ninth-ranked Texas, No. 13 Tulsa, 14th-ranked LSU, No. 15 Oklahoma, 22nd-ranked Kent State, No. 23 Purdue, 24th-ranked Baylor, No. 29 Alabama, 33rd-ranked Texas A&M, No. 34 Nebraska, 36th-ranked Central Florida, No. 37 California, 40th-ranked Texas Tech, No. 42 Minnesota, 44th-ranked Florida, Idaho, Oral Roberts, Princeton and San Francisco.
The teams with the best finish at the regional championships will move on to the NCAA Championships, May 22-25, at Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
