TAMPA, Fla. - Oklahoma State's softball team won two more games here in the Speedline Invitational Friday afternoon, positioning the Cowgirls to earn the No. 1 seed out of their respective pool for Saturday's bracket play.
Oklahoma State defeated Florida A&M, 12-1, early Friday as the offense exploded for six extra-base hits. The Cowgirls totaled 15 hits, including Danielle Thomas who went 2-for-3 with a triple, Jade Lindly who went 2-for-4 with a home run and three runs batted in, Ryan Realmuto who went 2-for-4 with a triple, and Jenny Kipp, who went 2-for-4 with a double.
In the second game, OSU's pitching duo of Lauren Bay and Kara Wentworth gave up just four hits as the Cowgirls defeated Central Michigan, 5-1, in the nightcap. Bay helped her own cause at the plate, hitting a grand slam home run in the third to put the game away.
Oklahoma State (14-7) will play Maryland on Saturday morning at noon before bracket play begins at 7 p.m.
