Men's Tennis Drops Conference Opener To Texas

AUSTIN, Texas. -- The Oklahoma State men's tennis team lost its conference opener 6-1 at the hands of the ninth-ranked Texas Longhorns on Sunday afternoon.
The Cowboys fell to 5-4 on the season. The Longhorns improved to 14-2 and extended their conference winning streak to 26 matches.
OSU's only win in singles came at the No. 6 position. Freshman Jiri Jezek posted a straight-set win over Jorge Haro, 6-4, 7-6. The win was Jezek's seventh consecutive and improved his record to 8-1 on the season.
Sophomore Fran Krepelka suffered his first loss of the season, a 6-4, 6-0 decision to Craig Edmondson at No. 5 singles.
In doubles action, the Cowboys picked up an 8-5 win courtesy of Matt Prentice and Eru Lyndon at the No. 1 slot.
The Pokes will travel to Lawrence, Kansas for a conference showdown with the
Kansas Jayhawks on April 2.
