Cowgirls Fall To No. 25 Kansas, 75-58

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State Cowgirl Jennifer Crow scored a game-high 30 points, but OSU fell short as the Cowgirls dropped to 12-9 overall, 4-5 in Big 12 action with a 75-58 loss to the 25th-ranked Kansas Jayhawks.
Crow shot 7-of-15 from the field, including 4-of-8 from behind the three-point arc. She also connected on 12-of-13 free throws. All this while being guarded by one of the best players in the league, Lynn Pride.
OSU led by as many as six on two occasions in the first half, the last being at the 13:27 mark, when the Cowgirls were ahead, 14-8. There was little scoring by either team until eight minutes later, when KU took the lead over for good, 19-17, on a three-pointer by Suzi Raymant. The ?Hawks went on an 8-2 run to go up by as many as eight, but the Cowgirls fought back, and trailed by just five, 32-27, entering the lockerroom.
KU scored the first four points of the second half, and took a double-digit lead at 40-29 with 17:47 remaining. Ten minutes later, the Jayhawks had their biggest lead of the game at 22, and OSU never got closer than 16 points.
Freshman Chantoya Hawkins added 11 points for the Cowgirls, but had nine turnovers. Excluding Crow's 12-of-13 performance from the line, the rest of the team was a mediocre 5-of-15.
Oklahoma State (12-9 overall, 4-5 Big 12) will host the Kansas State Wildcats (9-13, 2-7) on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
