Cowgirls Fall To Baylor, 71-60

WACO, Texas -- Oklahoma State scored a season-low 16 points in the first half and never could recover as the Cowgirls fell to last-place Baylor, 71-60, here Tuesday evening here in the Ferrell Center. Senior Jennifer Crow scored a game-high 24 points in the loss.
Oklahoma State shot just 19.4 percent from the floor in the first half, and trailed by as many as 23 points in the first period. The Cowgirls trailed by 18, 34-16, at intermission.
The second half was a different story, though, as OSU outscored Baylor, 44-37, and allowed six free throws at the end of the game trying to stop the clock. Crow scored 18 of her points in the second stanza.
BU's Hilary Akromis scored a team-high 19 points, including 12 in the secon half. OSU's Toya Releford added 12 points for the Cowgirls, all in the second half.
Oklahoma State cut the second half lead to 11 at 60-49 with 5:07 remaining, after trailing by as many as 18. But, the Bears scored seven straight points in a matter of :40 seconds and led, 57-39.
OSU made a last-ditch effort, with an 8-0 run to cut the score to 60-50. The Cowgirls trailed, 57-65, with 1:32 remaining in the game, but BU hit 6-of-6 free throws to end the game.
Oklahoma State (12-12 overall, 3-8 Big 12) will host the Texas A&M Lady Aggies on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m. in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
