Women's Golf finishes eighth at Bama Fall Preview

TULSA, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Cowgirl golf team dropped five spots and finished eighth here Wednesday afternoon at the Bama Fall Preview at the Tulsa Country Club. The Cowgirls shot a 318 today after a 301 during the opening round had them in a tie for third place.
Maria Boden, the sophomore from Sweden, once again took team honors as she finished tied for 12th individually in the tournament. Tulsa's Niina Laitinen took top honors with an even-par 71 on the second day, finishing just two-over for the tournament. Duke's Jenny Chuasiriporn and Beth Bauer both dropped to third place with identical scores of 77 after leading the tournament after day one.
Duke won the team title by two strokes over Tulsa, with USC finishing third with a 610. Arizona State finished fourth, and Georgia and Arizona tied for fifth to round out the top five. OSU finished just nine strokes behind Duke after trailing by just four after day one.
Other Cowgirl golfers that competed were Lotta Stromlid, who finished 25th with 77s on both days, JoJo Robertson, who finished 29th after tying for ninth after the first round, Emma Zackrisson, who finished 49th, and Natasha Rowe, who finished 83rd.
Oklahoma State returns to action Oct. 12-13, as the Cowgirls compete in the Big 12/Big 10 Shootout in Franklin, Ind.
