Women's Golf Wins Big 12 Fall Preview

AUSTIN, Texas - Oklahoma State's JoJo Robertson shot a three-round total of 224 and finished third individually in leading the Cowgirls to the title of the Big 12 Fall Preview played here this weekend. OSU finished with an eight-stroke lead over second-place and host-school Texas.
It was the second-consecutive Big 12 Preview that Oklahoma State has won as the Cowgirls won the 1997 event as well. OSU led the entire tournament, shooting a 300 in the first round and a 295 in the second before falling to a 313 in the final round.
There was a tie for the individual championship between Noel Jacobusse of Iowa State and Texas A&M's Marta Ostos. OSU sophomore Maria Boden, who tied for the individual title a year ago, shot a three-round total of 226, good enough for a tie of fifth place. Natasha Rowe tied for 10th with a 230, while Lotta Stromlid tied for 16th and Emma Zackrisson tied for 19th on the Cowgirl lineup.
Texas A&M, the Big 12 Champion this past spring, finished third at 922, six strokes behind Texas. Oklahoma finished fourth with a team score of 929, and Texas Tech finished out the top five with a three-round total of 934.
The 13th-ranked Cowgirls returns to action Monday morning as the Cowgirls begin play at the Bama Fall Preview, hosted by the University of Tulsa at the Tulsa Country Club. The tournament will showcase several top-ranked teams on the same course that will host the 1999 NCAA Championships. Some other teams competing in the tournament will be top-ranked Duke, No. 2 Arizona, third-ranked Arizona State, No. 4 Georgia, fifth-ranked USC, No. 6 Tulsa and seventh-ranked Stanford.
OSU fans are encouraged to come out and support the Cowgirls. The Tulsa Country Club is located just north of US-412 on Union Avenue in northwest Tulsa.
