STILLWATER, Okla. - After a month layoff from competition, Oklahoma State's Cowgirl golf team will get back into the swing of things this weekend as OSU travels to Austin, Texas, to compete in the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Classic, Friday through Sunday.
The 10th-ranked Cowgirls could challenge for the team title with eight other teams who are ranked in the latest MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings. Furman is the highest ranked team in the field at No. 8, while Texas is ranked 12th, Texas A&M 13th, Texas Christian 14th, North Carolina is ranked 19th, Wake Forest 20th, New Mexico 22nd and Nebraska is ranked 34th.
OSU's Lotta Stromlid is ranked 58th in the country in the last edition of the MasterCard rankings, followed by freshman Maria Bodn at 67th and Anna Lindblom at 81st. Alexandra Armas of Wake Forest is the highest ranked individual competing in the Longhorn Classic, ranked eighth in the NCAA.
The tournament will consist of three rounds of 18 holes each played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The par-73 Great Hills Golf Club is 5,900 yards in length.
