Cowgirl Golf Wins BYU/Utah-Dixie Classic

ST. GEORGE, Utah - Oklahoma State's sixth-ranked women's golf team won the BYU/ Utah-Dixie Classic here Tuesday afternoon, outdistancing second-place Texas Tech by nine strokes on the Sunbrook Golf Course. The Cowgirls won the tournament despite leading by just one stroke after the second round.
Three Cowgirls finished in the top 15, including Lotta Stromlid's tie for second place with a seven-over-par 223, tying Kansas' Mandy Munsch. BYU's Carrie Summerhays won the individual title, shooting a six-over 222. OSU sophomore Maria Bodn finished fifth with a three-round total of 226, while freshman Emma Zackrisson tied for 13th with a 230. Natasha Rowe finished 26th with a 234, while JoJo Robertson rounded out the Cowgirl golfers with a 236, good enough to tie for 31st.
Five of the top six teams were Big 12 Conference schools, with TTU finishing second at 921, Brigham Young third with a 925, Kansas was fourth with a 927, and Nebraska rounded out the top five, shooting a 929. Missouri finished sixth with a 938.
The Cowgirls, who have now won four tournaments this season, will return to action in two weeks when OSU competes in the Big 12 Championships on April 19-21 in Boulder, Colo.
