Boden Qualifies for NCAA Women's Golf Championship

STANFORD, Calif. - Oklahoma State freshman Maria Boden qualified as an individual, but the Cowgirls as a team failed to qualify for the NCAA Championships in two weeks as they fell to 13th place after the final round here Saturday afternoon in the West Regional Golf Championships.
Boden shot a final-round 77 to finish tied for 13th in the tournament. She, along with UTEP's Kristen MacLaren, qualified as the top two individuals who were not on a qualifying team. Oklahoma State, which was in third place after two days of the tournament, shot the second-worst round of the tournament with a 323 on Saturday.
Arizona won the team title with a three-round total of 871. Arizona State, led by individual medalist Grace Park, finished second with an 886. The other nine teams that qualified for the national championships are Stanford, Tulsa, Texas, USC, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Washington, Oregon State and Oregon.
Boden will compete in the NCAA Championships, May 20-23, at the University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wisconsin.
