2008-09: Compiled a 10-4 overall record that included a 2-4 mark in duals ... Racked up bonus points in nine of his 10 victories, winning by fall five times and by major decision four times ... Won the 174-pound weight class at both open tournaments in which he competed, claiming the title at the Central Missouri Open and at the Roger Denker Open ... Each of his five wins at the Central Missouri Open included bonus points, as did each of his three wins at the Roger Denker Open ... Earned a starting spot in the Cowboys' dual against Old Dominion in Stillwater and against Lehigh and Appalachian State at the Northeast Duals ... 2007-08 (Redshirt Year): Strung together a 16-5 record competing exclusively in open tournaments ... His six pins ranked second on the team ... Added a pair of major decisions on the year ... Went 4-1 against Big 12 Conference opponents ... Won the 165-pound bracket at the Roger Denker Open by rattling off a first-round pin of unattached Rick Cook, a second-round major decision win over Meramec CC's Derrick Monteith, a 6-0 shutout win in the semifinals over McKendree's Kyle Reid and a sudden victory win over OSU teammate Kevin Wainscott in the final ... Runner-up at the Central Missouri State Open and third-place finisher at the Fort Hays State Open.
