2025-26 (Junior at South Dakota State): Moved up to 197 pounds and qualified for his third-straight NCAA Championship, this time as the 13 seed … Highlighted his time at the NCAAs with a win over Wisconsin’s 20-seed Wyatt Ingham … Went 17-7 on the season and 11-2 in duals … Eight of his 17 wins came in bonus point fashion, including two falls … Put up the third-most team dual points with 50 … Placed fifth at the Big 12 Championships with a 4-2 record … Pushed the Jackrabbits to a historic win over No. 7 Minnesota with a 2-1 decision over No. 19 Gavin Nelson … During the summer and under Cowboy RTC, he won a U23 National Championship and a U23 Pan-American Championship at 86kg.
2024-25 (Sophomore at South Dakota State): Qualified for second NCAA Tournament at 184 pounds … Posted a 27-7 record (14-3 in duals) … Netted 13 ranked wins throughout the season, including a tight victory over All-American Jaxon Smith … Took home third at the Big 12 Championships and third at the Cliff Keen Invitational … Earned 10 bonus-point victories.
2023-24 (Freshman at South Dakota State): In his first full year of competition, he started at 184 pounds and earned All-American honors with a fourth-place finish as a nine seed at the NCAA Championships … Tabbed a 25-7 overall record, going 11-2 in duals … Finished second at the A Better Way Patriot Open to start his season … Started a nine-match winning streak with a 14-5 major decision over Michigan’s Jaden Bullock, a ranked wrestler, to help the Jackrabbits seal the win over the Wolverines … At the Big 12 Championships, he finished fourth with a 4-2 record, only dropping matches to Air Force’s Sam Wolf … Came back at the NCAA Championships and avenged his loss to Wolf with an 11-0 major decision in an elimination match … Following a first-round loss, he rattled off six consecutive wins, including wins against No. 5 seed Lenny Pinto (Nebraska) and No. 2 seed Isaiah Salazar (Minnesota) to earn a spot on the podium.
2022-23 (Redshirt at South Dakota State): Still competed in three events outside of open tournaments … Recorded an 11-5 record and dropped his two matches in dual action … In his first collegiate tournament, he tied for third at the Daktronics Open with a 2-1 record … Placed third and went 3-1 at both the UNI Open and the Soldier Salute in December … Broke through for his first collegiate title at the Flash Flanagan Open with three straight falls … During the summer, Berge won the 2023 U20 World Team Trials and the U20 Pan-Am Championship at 86kg to earn a trip to the U20 World Championships to represent Team USA in Amman, Jordan, where he took third place.
High School: One of the most decorated Minnesota high school wrestlers, earning five straight state championships at Kasson-Mantorville HS at five separate weight classes (138, 160, 170, 182, 195) … Netted 241 victories in his high school career … Went 124-1 over his final three seasons, including a perfect 52-0 record for his senior campaign … Was selected as the Minnesota representative of the Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award.
