2025-26 (Freshman Year): Became one of OSU’s five true freshman national champions all-time … Went 21-2 in his first year as a Cowboy and 14-1 in duals at the 157-pound weight class … Led the Cowboys in major decision victories with six … A part of the first team to have three true freshman national champions … His two reversals tied a team high … Began his Cowboy career with a statement, defeating Stanford’s fourth-ranked Daniel Cardenas via major decision (11-2) … Rattled off seven straight wins to start his career, with six coming in bonus-point fashion … Took home six ranked wins during an even longer nine-bout winning streak following his first loss of the season to Nebraska’s national champion Antrell Taylor … Finished runner-up at the Big 12 Championships following a tight 4-3 loss to Arizona State’s Kaleb Larkin … On his rampage at the NCAA Championships, he avenged both his losses from the regular season, dropping Larkin in the quarterfinals, taking down No. 1 seed PJ Duke (PSU) in the semifinals and defeating No. 2 seed Taylor via decision to cement himself as an individual champion … Performed just as well academically, being named to the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team and earning NWCA Scholar All-American status … During the summer, earned a spot on the U20 USA World Team via his victory at the U20 World Team Trials … Added on a bronze medal at the U20 World Championships in August before the 2026-27 season.
