2017-18 (Junior): Went 26-8 overall in singles in her first season as a Cowgirl … Went an impressive 16-2 in dual matches, competing in the No. 4 spot for the Cowgirls … Posted a 5-2 mark in Big 12 play on the way to earning her first career All-Big 12 honors, landing on the second team … Clinched OSU wins over Iowa State, Arkansas, Kansas State and Oklahoma … Was also key in OSU victories over a number of top-25 opponents including Arizona State, Florida, Miami, Kansas and UCLA … Defeated No. 104 Terri Fleming in the Cowgirls’ first ever win over UCLA … Was named Big 12 Player of the Week in February for her contributions to the Cowgirls’ win over Arkansas … Teamed up with fellow junior Katarina Stresnakova in doubles to go 21-11 overall and 15-7 in dual play, competing in the No. 2 spot … The pair went 7-2 in conference play to land on the All-Big 12 team … Fall 2017: Went 10-6 in singles and 6-4 in doubles with teammate Katarina Stresnakova during her first fall tournament season in Stillwater ... Won four matches to advance to the singles quarterfinals at the ITA Central Region Championships ... Also picked up a pair of doubles wins to advance to the regional doubles round of 16 ... Posted a strong weekend at the Dickie V Clay Court Classic, advancing to the semifinals in singles and knocking off No. 53 Elena Cerezo-Codina and Caroline Daxhelet of Virginia Tech to move into the semifinals in doubles as well ... With Stresnakova, also advanced to the quarterfinals at the Freeman Memorial Tennis Classic.
At ETSU: Racked up an impressive 36-1 dual singles record during her two years at ETSU ... Posted a 2017 campaign in which she went 17-1 competing in the top two spots for the Buccaneers ... Teamed up with Ioanna Markesini teamed up to go 14-4 on the season in the No. 1 doubles position to follow up a 17-3 season in doubles as a freshman ... Helped the Buccaneers to a second place finish in the Southern Conference, and a run to the finals of the conference championship ... As a freshman in 2016, was named to the All-Southern Conference Freshman Team and All-Southern Conference Second Team, leading ETSU to a 20-3 overall record and the program's fifth all-time NCAA Tournament appearance.
Prior to ETSU: Espana has an ITF ranking of 698. She has won Leeuwenbergh ITF 4 Junior Championship and the 14 and 18 under Catalonia Championship. She is ranked No. 29 in Spain and made the round of 16 in the WTA $10,000 Palmanova (Mallorca).
