Legacy Cowboy was a 2,000-point scorer and two-time state player of the year at Owasso High School, where he played for his father, former OSU forward Brian Montonati … Shooting guard and wing is a high-energy guy and floor-spacer who can score at all three levels… A consensus four-star recruit, ranked as high as No. 83 in the Class of 2026 by Rivals… Has also been active with USA Basketball, helping the United States to a gold medal at the 2023 FIBA U16 Americas… The eighth two-time Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year in state history, joining Bryce Thompson, Trae Young, Shake Milton, Stevie Clark, Xavier Henry, Sheldon Williams and Brandon Loyd.

Helped lead USA Basketball to a gold medal at the 2023 FIBA Americas U16 Championship while shooting 41 percent from long distance… Teammates included Koa Pete, Cameron Boozer, AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson and Tyran Stokes.
High School:
A three-time Oklahoman Super 5 selection (first team all-state, all classes) at Owasso High School in suburban Tulsa… Collected 2,250 career points, despite missing a portion of his senior season to injury… Suffered a fracture to his left (non-shooting hand) during a January practice, costing him a chance at becoming the state’s first ever three-time Gatorade High School Player of the Year… Won the award as a sophomore in 2024 while leading Owasso to its first ever state championship and repeated in 2025 when he led class 6A in scoring (23.3 points per game)… Competed in the 2026 Iverson Classic All-American game in April 2026… In the summer of 2025, starred on the Nike EYBL circuit with MoKan Elite, averaging 15.8 points per game on 38% three-point shooting at the 2025 Peach Jam… In addition to OSU, took visits to Oklahoma and Kansas State and entertained offers from the likes of Arkansas, Alabama, Houston, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee, USC and more.
