2010-11 (Redshirt season)
• after starting the first seven games of the season as the point guard, an injury to his shoulder that required surgery sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
• grabbed 2.6 rebounds and scored 2.3 points in those first seven games.
• scored a season-high five points against both Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Nicholls.
2009-10 (Freshman season)
• started 14 of the final 15 games at point guard.
• averaged 2.1 assists per game over the final 10 contests.
• ranked 11th among Big 12 freshmen in assists per game (1.27) and steals per contest (0.7), and seventh in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.11).
• scored a season-high eight points against Texas A&M, connecting on 2-of-3 field goals and 4-of-5 free throws.
• grabbed a season-high six rebounds in back-to-back games against Kansas and at Texas.
• dished out four assists with no turnovers against Prairie View A&M and matched his assist total against Kansas.
• started his first collegiate game against Seattle, scoring five points and grabbing three rebounds in 27 minutes.
High School
• was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for the second-consecutive season for the state of Arkansas as a senior.
• was honored as Arkansas Mr. Basketball by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in 2008 and was also named All-Northwest Arkansas by the Democrat-Gazette.
• led his team to the Class 7A state championship with a 30-0 record.
• averaged 16.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.8 assists per game as a senior.
• a consensus three-star guard nationally.
• ranked as the No. 16 point guard prospect in the country according to Scout.com.
• played in the Reebok All-American game on April 18 and scored two points, grabbed two rebounds and dished out three assists.
• scored 16 points (6 of 15 from floor, 3 of 6 from long range) and was named outstanding player of his team as he led the West to a 101-88 victory over the East in the Arkansas High School Coaches Association All-Star game on June 25.
• was also recruited by Arkansas, Missouri, Stanford, California and Georgia Tech.
Personal
Born May 10, 1991, Fred is the son of Fred and Verlyn Gulley. He has an older sister, LaToya. Fred is a cousin of Ronnie Brewer, a former player at Arkansas and current member of the Utah Jazz roster and LaToya played basketball for the Texas A&M Aggies. Fred enjoys listening to music and reading in his free time. He is planning to major in business at Oklahoma State.
