Fourth-quarter explosion powers Cowboys to 120-92 exhibition win

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Oklahoma State erupted for 41 fourth-quarter points in a 120-92 exhibition victory over Puerto Rico Fuerza on Monday evening at Guillermo Angulo Coliseum.
The Cowboys improved to 2-0 on their foreign tour with their second victory over PRF — a select team made up of players from Puerto Rico's top professional league — in just over 24 hours.
The first three quarters of Monday's game unfolded much like Sunday night's 94-88 Cowboy victory, with OSU leading but never fully separating from the home team. The fourth quarter was another story.
Ahead 79-71, the Cowboys outscored PRF 41-21 over the final 10 minutes while connecting on 17 of 25 shots, including 5 of 9 from 3-point range.
Freshman guard Parker Robinson scored 10 of his team-high 18 points during the fourth-quarter surge.
After a scoreless debut, fellow freshman Latrell Allmond delivered a strong second showing with 17 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
Sophomores Ryan Crotty, Mekhi Ragland and Jacob Walker also scored in double figures. Crotty finished with 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc, Ragland added 12 and Walker scored 11.
The Cowboys shot 55.4% from the field and made 16 of 18 free throws.
Oklahoma State finished with a 51-25 rebounding advantage, collecting nearly half of its own misses with 19 offensive boards in 39 opportunities while limiting the hosts to five. The Pokes outscored PRF 28-4 in second-chance points.
The lopsided victory came despite a 34-19 foul disparity. PRF attempted 37 free throws to OSU's 18 but missed 10 of those opportunities.
Among the other eye-popping numbers, the Cowboys averaged 1.41 points per possession and 1.30 points per shot. All 14 players scored, with the reserves accounting for 91 of OSU's 120 points.
Oklahoma State scored the final six points of the first quarter to take a 24-20 lead and played from in front the rest of the way.
Crotty connected twice from 3-point range in the opening minutes of the second quarter, and Allmond threw down a ferocious driving dunk during a 14-3 Cowboy run that stretched the margin to 44-26 with 5:29 remaining in the half.
PRF held the Pokes to one field goal over the remainder of the period and closed on a 15-6 run to pull within 50-41 at the intermission.
The hosts trimmed the deficit to four points, 67-63, with four minutes remaining in the third quarter, but Allmond answered with a 3-pointer before chasing down a 50-50 ball and converting a transition layup.
The Cowboys scored on all but three possessions in the fourth quarter, which began with a 17-4 run. Andrija Grbovic supplied seven points during that stretch with a 3-pointer and a pair of tip-ins. Anthony Felesi capped the run with an acrobatic tip dunk that made it 96-75 with 6:24 to play.
Oklahoma State reached the century mark with 5:16 remaining and kept rolling, stretching its lead to as many as 30 points in the final minute.
The Cowboys will now take Tuesday off before concluding their tour Wednesday night against the LBP All-Stars, a select team representing Puerto Rico's semiprofessional tier.
