Cowgirl Tennis Beats No. 34 Texas Tech, 4-1

LUBBOCK, Texas – Oklahoma State's No. 28 ranked women's tennis team defeated No. 34 Texas Tech, 4-1, on Friday evening at the McLeod Tennis Center.
The Cowgirls improve to 6-4 overall and 3-0 in conference play. It also extended its win streak to three and improved to 25-15 all-time against Texas Tech.
In doubles, Oklahoma State got wins on courts one and two to secure the point. This marks the eighth time this season OSU has secured the doubles point. First, No. 20 Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp defeated No. 55 Kate Dmitrichenko and Hailey Murphy, 7-5. The pair of Komar and Nijkamp are now 7-1 this season and have won four-straight matches.
On court two, Olivia Lincer and Luca Udvardy won their fourth-consecutive match, defeating Elena Daskalova and Mariia Hlahola in a thriller 7-6 (7-4). OSU forfeited court three due to player availability.
Texas Tech earned a point on court six after OSU forfeited due to player availability. OSU would put the next three points on the board to win the match, starting with Melisa Ercan taking down Daskalova 6-3, 6-2.
No. 22 Nijkamp was the next to secure a point, beating Hlahola 7-6 (8-6), 6-2, before Komar finished off Dmitrichenko, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2, to clinch the match for the Cowgirls.
Two singles matches went unfinished as No. 53 Lincer led Murphy 6-4, 6-6, while Udvardy was leading Polina Slepstova 7-5, 4-5.
Oklahoma State will look to continue its win streak on Sunday when it takes on Colorado on the road at 11:30 a.m. CT.
