Cowgirl Tennis Beats Kansas State, 4-1

STILLWATER - Oklahoma State's No. 27 ranked women's tennis team defeated No. 53 Kansas State, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
The win improves the Cowgirls to 7-5 overall and 4-1 in Big 12 play. OSU continues its three-match homestand next weekend when it hosts TCU on Friday and Baylor on Sunday at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
As always, the match began with doubles, where Oklahoma State clinched the doubles point for the sixth-consecutive match. First, Olivia Lincer and Luca Udvardy defeated Varvara Bernovich and Diana Smolinska, 6-4. The pair improves to 6-0 this season.
The No. 20 ranked pair of Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp bested No. 45 Maralgoo Chogsomjav and Martaa Chogsomjav, 7-6 (7-3), to clinch the doubles point for the Cowgirls. Komar and Nijkamp improved to 9-1 on the season. Oklahoma State forfeited court three due to player availability.
In singles, the Cowgirls won courts four, three and one to secure the match. OSU forfeited court six due to player availability. The first point came as No. 22 Nijkamp defeated Smolinska 6-4, 6-1, while shortly after Udvardy beat Sasha Kyselova 6-2, 6-1. Udvardy is now 7-1 in singles this season.
The final point came when No. 53 Lincer defeated Mara. Chogsomjav 6-4, 6-2, securing the win for Oklahoma State. Lincer has a team-high eight singles wins this season. Two courts went unfinished, with Komar leading Mart. Chogsomjav 6-3, 4-2, and Melisa Ercan leading Chanel Rustemova, 6-3, 2-1.
