Multiple OSU Track & Field school records fall during final day of tri-meet weekend
February 14, 2026 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's and women's indoor track & field finished an action-packed tri-meet weekend at the Tyson Invitational in Arkansas, the Husky Classic in Washington and the Don Kirby Elite Invitational in New Mexico, headed by several broken program records.
At the Don Kirby Elite Invitational, true freshman Kevin Kemboi demolished the program record in the men's Triple Jump, recording a jump of 16.37 meters and securing a victory in only his third meet as a Cowboy. Kemboi broke his previous program record of 15.80 meters, which he set in his Cowboy debut at the JD Martin Invitational. His performance also lands him at 11th in the NCAA in the men's Triple Jump.
At the Husky Classic, the Cowgirls stole the show, with freshman Isca Chelangat breaking the school record in the 5,000 Meters with her time of 15:07.76. The previous record was held by Cowgirl legend Taylor Roe, who ran 15:12.71 at the Eagle Elite Invitational in 2024. Sophomore Maureen Rutoh set a new personal best in the same race with her time of 15:34.09 to move her to fifth on the program's all-time list.
The records continued to fall Saturday, as Billah Jepkirui blazed through the women's Mile invite with a time of 4:22.92, crushing her own program record by more than four seconds and setting a meet record at the Husky Invitational. Jepkirui's time broke the previous collegiate record entering the weekend and sits No. 4 on the NCAA all-time list after this weekend.
In the men's 5,000 Meters, junior Adisu Guadie jumped out to an impressive time of 13:27.23, breaking his own indoor Israeli National Record by more than two seconds. The time extends Guadie's fifth-ranked time in the program and breaks his personal best of 13:29.58, recorded at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in December.
At the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., Oliver Patton cruised through the men's championship Mile, clinching second with his time of 3:58.58 and beating his personal best by four seconds. Teammate David Mora also secured a top-five finish with his run of 4:00.22, placing fourth in the event.
In the men's 800 meters, senior Hafez Mahadi clocked a time of 1:47.74, with freshman Alex Riley clocking a time of 1:48.41 to place him fifth in program history indoors.
Up next on the schedule for the Cowboys and Cowgirls is the Arkansas Qualifier back at the Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville on Feb. 20.
