STILLWATER, Okla. –Oklahoma State's Stailee Heard picked up her third honor of the week on Wednesday with her selection as a National Player of the Week by the United States Basketball Writers Association.
For the period through Sunday, Jan. 18, the five Ann Meyers Drysdale national women's honorees of the week were Heard, Georgia's Dani Carnegie, Dominique Darius of Syracuse, Columbia's Nasi Simmons and Iowa's Hannah Stuelke.
On Monday, Heard was named the Naismith Trophy Player of the Week and was tabbed as the Big 12 Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Heard logged her third consecutive 20-point outing in OSU's win at Kansas during the midweek, finishing with a team-high 21 points on a 6-of-13 shooting effort. The Sapulpa, Okla. native also made all seven of her free-throw attempts and grabbed a team-best nine boards as well to go with three assists and three steals. She matched her season best with the three steals and added a block.
The junior helped OSU to its first ranked win of the year with its victory over No. 19 Iowa State on Sunday. In the win, Heard logged just the third triple-double in program history, joining Brittney Martin and Natasha Mack as Cowgirls to do so. She would finish with 18 points and a career-high 17 rebounds to go with a career-best 10 assists against the Cyclones. She also had two steals and a block.
She became the first Big 12 player this century to record at least 15 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists in a game. Additionally, Heard is just the second Division I player since at least 1999-2000 to put up that stat line against a ranked opponent.
