Opening Tips:
- Gallagher-Iba Arena's longest active winning streaks collide when the Oklahoma State Cowboys (11-0 at home) takes on a Baylor team that hasn't lost in Stillwater since 2016.
- Head coach Steve Lutz will also take aim at his 100th win in just five seasons as head coach.
- Lutz has helped restore home court advantage in GIA, guiding the Cowboys to a 22-4 mark (.846).
- OSU's 11-game home winning streak is its longest since 2014 and the 11-0 start is the program's best since the 2009-10 season.
- Baylor's nine-game GIA winning streak is officially the longest ever by a visiting team, edging out K-State's eight-game run under former Poke Jack Hartman (1970-77).
- This is BU's first visit since a 75-70 overtime win in the 2024 Big 12 opener.
- Prior to this streak the Bears were just 5-26 all-time in Stillwater.
- The Cowboys opened conference play with three straight games against nationally-ranked opponents, with last Tuesday's home victory over No. 25 UCF sandwiched between road setbacks at No. 15 Texas Tech and No. 3 ISU.
- As of Monday, all 18 of OSU's Big 12 games fall into either Quadrant I or II territory.
- Senior forward Parsa Fallah has reached the 20-point mark in all three Big 12 contests, averaging 21.7 points and 6.7 rebounds on 62% shooting.
- Saturday in Ames, Fallah (21 pts, 11 reb) recorded OSU's first 20-10 statline in a Big 12 game since Cade Cunningham (40 pts, 11 reb at Oklahoma on Feb. 27, 2021).
- OSU averaging more than 20 free throw makes per game (20.2) and ranks among the top-20 in scoring offense (89.0).
- At home the Cowboys have scored at least 85 in every game and are averaging 93.4 points on 50.3% shooting.
- Five Cowboys are averaging double-digit points this season, led by Anthony Roy (17.6 ppg) who has scored at least 10 points in every game.
- The 6-foot-5 senior has knocked down a league-best 15 threes in Big 12 play on just 27 attempts (.556).
- Roy's streak of 12 straight games with multiple threes is one of the four-longest in OSU history, joining Obi Muonelo (17 in 2009), John-Michael Wright (13 in 2024) and Keiton Page (12 in 2012).
- Point guards Kanye Clary (4.9 apg) and Jaylen Curry (4.6 apg) lead one the nation's most aggressive attacks (fourth in adjusted tempo, per KenPom).
- Curry ranks 17th nationally in A:TO ratio (3.61) and Clary is 18th in assists-per-40-minutes (8.6).
- A week of late night hoops will continue Saturday when the Cowboys host a rare 9 p.m. CT tip against K-State on CBSSN.
Â
Last Time on Cowboy Basketball:
Saturday, Jan. 10 in Ames, Iowa | #3 Iowa State 83, OSU 71
- OSU became the latest victim in third-ranked Iowa State's school-record start.
- Joshua Jefferson (19 pts) led a group of five double-figure scorers for the 16-0 Cyclones, who improved to 10-0 at home.
- Parsa Fallah finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds and Anthony Roy added 19 points on five three-pointers for the Cowboys, who led by as many as nine midway through the first half.
- ISU's Milan Momcilovic scored 16 of his 18 points in the opening period, seven of them during a 14-4 run that erased OSU's early advantage.
- The Cyclones led 42-40 at halftime and took control with another 9-0 spurt early in the second half.
- OSU had the ball down six points near the 5:00-mark but missed a layup. Tamin Lipsey drilled a three on the opposite end, and the hosts maintained control the rest of the way.
- The Cowboys kept it close, despite playing without second-leading scorer, Vyctorius Miller, who missed the contest due to injury.
- OSU's 71 points were a season-low but also the most scored by a Hilton Coliseum visitor this year.
Â
Home Cookin':
- OSU's 11-game home winning streak is its longest since 2014. Marcus Smart-led Cowboy teams strung together 12 consecutive GIA wins between the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons.
- It's the 25th double-digit streak in GIA history.
- This is the first time in 16 years that an OSU team has started 11-0 or better at home. The 2009-10 team also won its first 11 games and finish the season 15-1 with victories over No. 22 Texas Tech (81-52), No. 22 Baylor (82-75) and No. 1 Kansas (85-77).
- When was the last time an OSU team started 12-0 at home? The 2006-07 Cowboys won their first 14, highlighted by a triple-overtime win over a Texas team led by Kevin Durant.
Â
Trending:
- OSU is 13-6 in bounceback games under Lutz.
- OSU used its 14th different starting five against Iowa State. 12 Cowboys have started at least once, which ties the school record.
- The Cowboys have been the first team on the scoreboard in 14 of the 16 contests this season. They've scored on their first possession in each of the last six games.
- 81 has been the magic number for OSU under Lutz. The Cowboys are 23-0 when scoring that many points (13-0 this season) but 7-21 when held to 80-or-fewer (0-3 this season).
- Under Lutz, OSU is also 25-2 (10-0 this season) when leading at halftime, 22-4 (11-0) when outshooting its opponent and 23-5 (11-0) when winning the rebounding battle.
- The Pokes have topped the 90-point mark eight times -- already the second highest season total in program history (12 in 2016-17).
Â
The Series with Baylor:
- The Cowboys lead the all-time series 57-38, but Baylor has made up ground in recent years with wins in five straight and 16 of 21. The most recent was a 75-70 overtime win in last season's Big 12 opener in Stillwater.
- The 2025-26 season marks the 30th consecutive year the schools have met on the hardwood.
- OSU is 19-23 against the Bears in Waco and 0-1 at Foster Pavilion.
- The Cowboys are 26-14 in Stillwater, but Baylor has won its last nine visits. That's the longest opponent winning streak in Gallagher-Iba Arena history, ahead of an eight-game Kansas State run from 1970-77. Prior to the streak, the Bears were just 5-26 (5-22 in GIA).
- Baylor has a 29-27 edge in Big 12 regular season games, but the Cowboys are perfect 4-0 in conference tournament matchups. The most recent win came in 2021 when 12th-ranked OSU topped No. 2 Baylor in the semifinals.

Last Meeting with Baylor:
Feb. 29, 2025 in Waco | BU, 71-61
- A strong defensive effort wasn't enough to push OSU past Baylor. Both sides shot under 40%, but the Bears had 10 extra attempts, helped by a 16-7 edge on the offensive glass.
- Aurtro Dean scored all nine of his points in the first 10:00, capped by a three-point play that gave him exactly 1,000 for his collegiate career and spotted OSU to an early 10-point lead.
- Baylor missed 17 of its first 20 shots but caught up after OSU missed 13 of its last 16. Down 22-12 near the 6:00 mark, BU finished on a 12-2 run to take a 26-24 into the locker room.
- After Abou Ousmane's putback tied the game at 29 with 18:00 to play, Baylor answered with another 12-0 spurt to take the lead for good.
- Jeremy Roach scored a game-high 21 points for Baylor, including eight during that pivotal run.
- The Bears shot 23.5% in the first half but hit on 56% after halftime, including 6-of-13 from three.
- Bryce Thompson finished with 19 points for the Cowboys, who shot 46% and made 17-of-21 second half free throws. They rallied to within 63-59 with 1:26 to play but could get no closer.
Â
Scouting the Bears:
- Baylor has won a game in each of the last six NCAA tournaments under head coach Scott Drew, highlighted by the program's first national title in 2021.
- The Bears lost their entire active roster to graduation, the portal or the NBA but restocked with a mixture of transfers and impact freshmen.
- Drew did keep one helpful piece in place in Cameron Carr, who redshirted last spring after transferring from Tennessee. The 6-foot-5 guard is averaging a team-high 20.5 points along with 1.7 blocks and is shooting just under 40% from three-point range.
- 6-5 freshman Tounde Yessoufou, a 2025 McDonald's All-American, averages 17.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.1 steals.
- Wyoming transfer Obi Agim (10.4 ppg) has made a team-best 33 threes on 38% efficiency and ranks fifth nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (4.45).
- The leading scorer two years ago at Cincinnati, Dan Skillings Jr. is averaging 11.3 points and 6.6 boards in his first go-around with the Bears.
- Rice transfer Cade Powell (team-best 8.0 rebounds in 21.9 minutes) has the nation's 11th highest offensive rebounding rate, per KenPom.
- Baylor (10-5, 0-3) is averaging 88.3 points on 49.0% shooting for the season but just has been held to 59.3 and 34.6% in Big 12 play, including 25.4% from three.
- Seven Bears are clocking at least 20 minutes per game, and that group has accounted for all but 44 of the team's 1,325 points this season (96.7%).
- The Baylor rotation has expanded to eight with the mid-season addition of 7-footer James Nnaji (3.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 16.4 mpg in three games).
Â
Matchup Mashup:
- OSU forward Parsa Fallah and Baylor guard Michael Rataj were teammates last season at Oregon State. Both players earned all-conference honors for a team that won 20 regular season games.
- Baylor president Linda Livingstone was a four-year women's basketball letterman at Oklahoma State from 1978-82. She's married to former Cowboy Basketball Brad Livingstone, and her father, Doyle Parrack, was a starter on OSU's 1945 national championship team.
