TUCSON, Ariz. – Oklahoma State dropped a 3-1 match to Arizona Sunday at Mulcahy Stadium.
With the loss, the Cowgirls fall to 4-5-2 overall and 0-2-1 in Big 12 play, while UA improved to 7-4-0 and 2-1-0 in the league.
The two teams battled to a scoreless opening half as OSU's defense held strong against a Wildcats' side that tallied 12 shots, with goalie Logan Marks continuing her standout play with four saves.
The second half saw the Wildcats take control in the 62nd minute as an own goal gave the home team a 1-0 advantage.
UA added two goals over the next 13 minutes, with Mireya Stephenson and Marissa Arnst finding the back of the net.
OSU would avoid the shutout on a goal by Sonora DeFini in the 89th minute as she collected a free kick into the box by Sophie Wilson and delivered a shot to the far post. The goal was DeFini's third of the season.
The Wildcats finished the match with a 21-6 advantage in shots as well as a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
Marks recorded eight saves, one shy of her career high set last Thursday at Arizona State.
