LUBBOCK, Texas – Oklahoma State dropped a 4-0 match to 13th-ranked Texas Tech Thursday night at the John Walker Soccer Complex.
With the loss, the Cowgirls fell to 4-6-2 overall and 0-3-1 in Big 12 play, while TTU moved to the top of the conference standings at 3-0-1 and is now 9-1-1 overall.
OSU had an early chance to take the lead, but a shot by Sonora DeFini deflected off the crossbar in the eighth minute.
TTU got on the scoreboard in the 26th minute when Peyton Parsons delivered a low shot from the top right corner of the box that rolled past OSU goalie Logan Marks to the far post.
The Red Raiders doubled their lead just six minutes later. A free kick from just outside the box was saved by a diving Marks, but Macy Blackburn raced in and buried the rebound to put the home team up, 2-0.
Texas Tech took the two-goal advantage into halftime and increased its lead less than seven minutes out of the locker room as Taylor Zdrojewski buried a 22-yard shot.
Marks finished with five saves as TTU outshot the Cowgirls by a 20-3 margin; both teams recorded a single corner kick.
OSU returns to action Monday when the Cowgirls host BYU at Neal Patterson Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
