Cowgirl Golf wins Schooner Fall Classic
September 21, 2025 | Cowgirl Golf
NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma State women's golf returned to Belmar Golf Club on Sunday, claiming the Schooner Fall Classic team championship.
Backed by a combined 16-under par showing in the event's first two rounds Saturday, the Cowgirls entered the day with a seven-stroke lead over Iowa State.
A 278-stroke (-2) final round led Oklahoma State to a seven-stroke victory at 18-under par. The win marks OSU's fourth Schooner Fall Classic title (2025, 2021, 2015, 2013) as well as the program's 105th team win and the first of head coach Annie Young's second stint leading the team.
"It was a great win this week," said Young. "These girls work hard, so it was good to see them earn some success. Hopefully this is the first of many!"
The Pokes fought through rainy conditions all day, shooting even par through 12 holes before officials paused play at 1:35 p.m. CDT. The event resumed after an hour-long lightning delay, with Oklahoma State combining to shoot 2-under par through the final six holes.
A 3-under 31 on the back nine propelled Grace Kilcrease to a 68 (-3) and a third-place finish overall. Kilcrease played all three rounds under par, one of only five golfers to do so, posting an ultra-consistent 67-67-68—202 (-8) scorecard. The senior ended the contest at just one stroke off the individual lead.
Marta Silchenko joined Kilcrease as the fifth and final golfer to shoot below par in each round, pairing a third-round 69 (-1) with two prior 68s (-2) en route to a seventh-place finish. The junior has shot under par in five of six rounds to start the season.
After a stellar Saturday that included the third-lowest round in school history (65), third-year Poke Ellie Bushnell added a 71 (+1) on Sunday. Bushnell finished the tournament at five strokes under par, tied for seventh place alongside fellow Cowgirl Marta Silchenko. The rising star has placed top 10 in each of the first two events of the year.
Tarapath Panya played at even-par in the final round of her season debut (70-73-70—213, +3).
A 73 (+3) from Yu-Chu Chen wrapped up the true freshman's second career collegiate tournament.
Summer Lee concluded her weekend of individual competition with a 2-over 72.
The Cowgirls return to action in two weeks at the Prairie Dunes Invitational in Hutchinson, Kansas, Oct. 6-7.
25 conference titles. 31 NCAA Championship appearances. 44 All-Americans. For the latest news and updates on Oklahoma State Women's Golf, visit okstate.com or follow @CowgirlGolf on Instagram/Facebook and @OSUCowgirlGolf on X.
