June 12, 2025 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
EUGENE, Ore. – Oklahoma State men's track & field opened competition at the NCAA Outdoor Championships Wednesday, highlighted by a silver medal performance from Blair Anderson in the Long Jump Final.
Anderson leapt 8.02 meters (+2.4 wind) on his first attempt, a distance that held up as the second-best in the field and earned him first team earn All-America honors. The jump was an all-conditions personal best and the second-longest in program history, coming just one centimeter shy of Jacob Fincham-Dukes' all-conditions school record of 8.03 meters set in 2017.
He is just the third Cowboy to earn first team All-America honors in the Long Jump outdoors, joining Fincham-Dukes (fifth, 2019) and former Cowboy coach Ralph Tate (third, 1943). The senior's runner-up finish caps a standout season for Anderson, who was also crowned Big 12 Champion indoors earlier this spring and entered the championships as the No. 3 qualifier out of the NCAA West Prelims.
On the track, sophomore Denis Kipngetich picked up second team All-America honors with his ninth-place finish in the 10,000 Meters with his time of 29:11.50. Kipngetich has now finished in the top ten nationally in the event two years in a row, adding to OSU's rich tradition in the 10K, with at least one Cowboy finishing in the top ten for six years in a row at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Earlier in the evening, senior Alex Stitt closed out his season in the 1,500 Meter Semifinals, finishing 20th overall in 3:52.91. Stitt made his third appearance at the NCAA Championships and was caught in a tactical race that came down to the final 100 meters.
The Cowgirls open action Thursday with Emma Robbins in the Hammer Throw Final before Kaylie Politza and Josphine Mwaura hit the track in the 800 Meter Semifinal and 10,000 Meter Final, respectively.
The entirety of the NCAA Outdoor Championships will be televised on the ESPN family of networks with Thursdays action on ESPN starting at 6 p.m. CT. Friday's finals will start at 7 p.m. on ESPN2 with Saturday's competition on ESPNU starting at 8 p.m. Live results for the meet can be found here.
