April 03, 2025 | Cowgirl Basketball
STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team has added a veteran backcourt presence with the signing of Haleigh Timmer it was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Jacie Hoyt.
The 5-11 guard spent the past four years as a member of the South Dakota State program. Timmer played in 106 games and made 77 starts over three seasons for the Jackrabbits. During that time, she scored 1,155 points while connecting on 47.4 percent of her shots from the floor.
"Haleigh is a proven winner and a very crucial addition to our roster as we continue to reload our pieces. Her work ethic, team-first attitude and competitive drive make her a great fit into our culture. She is a stingy defender and I love her ability to shoot as well as get downhill offensively," Hoyt said.
"If you look at what she has done in close games in the final minutes over the course of her career you can see that she is fearless and knows how to make winning plays when it matters most. She has ice in her veins!"
As a freshman in 2021-22, the Rapid City, South Dakota native played in 37 games and made eight starts. Timmer averaged 8.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per game while shooting 47.8 percent from the floor. She capped the year by earning WNIT All-Tournament honors after helping the Jackrabbits capture the WNIT crown.
As a sophomore, Timmer started all 35 games, shooting 46 percent from the floor while averaging 12.1 points and 3.6 boards per game. She was named a second-team All-Summit League selection as well as a Summit League All-Tournament Team pick while guiding SDSU to a 29-6 mark and the second round of the NCAA tournament.
After missing the 2023-24 season due to injury, Timmer bounced back this past season to start all 34 of the squad's games while averaging a career-best 12.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest. Timmer connected on 48.4 percent of her shot attempts, including a 41.3 percent clip from beyond the 3-point arc to help the Jackrabbits to a 30-4 mark and the second round of the NCAA tournament once again. She earned All-Summit League honorable mention honors in the process.
