Cowboy Tennis Falls to Top-Seeded TCU in Big 12 Quarterfinals

WACO, Texas – Oklahoma State's eighth-seeded men's tennis team fell to top-seeded TCU, 4-0, in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Championship on Friday night at the Hurd Tennis Center.

The win improves the Horned Frogs to 22-2, while the loss drops the Cowboys to 10-15.

The Cowboys dropped a tightly contested doubles point to open the match, losing 6-4 on both courts two and three. OSU's Isaac Becroft and Alessio Basile led No. 37 Jack Pinnington and Cooper Woestendick, 5-4, before leaving the match unfinished.

No. 32 Lui Maxted doubled the TCU lead, defeating Derek Pham in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3.

The Horned Frogs pushed the match to the brink with Duncan Chan's 6-4, 7-6 (5) win over Nicolas Kobelt, before Roger Pascual clinched the match with his win over Ian Bracks, 6-4, 6-4.

In his final conference match, after dropping the opening set in a tiebreaker, No. 78 Becroft won eight-straight games against TCU's No. 7 Pinnington to lead 6-7 (3), 6-1, 3-0 before leaving the match unfinished.

Basile left his match on court three unfinished in the third set as well.
