OSU at the Big 12 Championship
- OSU's 11 team championships are the most in Big 12 history. Baylor (the 2015 winner) is the only other active member that has won a title.
- In addition, a league-best 11 Cowgirls have claimed individual medalist honors over the years, most recently Maddison Hinson-Tolchard in 2023.
- Current OSU assistant Annie (Thurman) Young finished out her Cowgirl playing career with back-to-back titles in 2004 and 2005.Â
- OSU holds the record for lowest individual round (Isabella Fierro, 65) along with team bests for 18 and 54-holes (270 and 830). All three marks were set in 2021.
Team Notes:
- OSU is No. 30 in the latest Division I national team rankings.
- The Cowgirls are in Texas for the third time in less than a month and for the fifth time overall this season.
- The Pokes have logged five top-5 showings in 2024-25, highlighted by runner-up finishes at the Dale McNamara Invitational (Oct. 14-15) and the FAU Paradise Invitational (Feb. 3-4). They shot a season-best 15-under-par at the latter.
- The Cowgirls also tied for fourth place at the prestigious Jackson T. Stephens Cup (Oct. 21-23) against a field made up exclusively of top-30 teams.
The Lineup:
- Four Cowgirls rank among the nation's top-200 individually, led by junior Grace Kilcrease at No. 43.
- Kilcrease (team-best 71.9 stroke average) is one of three OSU golfers who are in line to make their Big 12 Championship debuts. The Tulsa transfer tied for third at last year's American Athletic Conference Championship while helping the Golden Hurricane to a second-place finish.
- Kilcrease began her Cowgirl career with six straight top-10s, highlighted by individual medalist honors at the Carmel Cup. In late September, she fired the lowest round in school history with a 63 at the Schooner Fall Classic.
- Sophomores Marta Silchenko (No. 134) and Ellie Bushnell (No. 163) are the only Cowgirls with previous Big 12 Championship experience. They tied for 26th and 33rd respectively at last year's event.
- Silchenko (72.5 stroke average) missed the fall season due to injury but has been a force this spring, placing third at the Texas State Invitational and ninth against a stacked Charles Schwab Invitational field two weeks ago.
- Bushnell (73.4) has rattled off six top-20 finishes this season, including a tie for 11th at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup.
- A pair of freshmen round out the OSU lineup:
- Summer Lee has played in every tournament this year while posting four top-20 finishes, including a 19th place showing at last week's Veritex Bank Collegiate.
- Tarapath Panya earned her second top-20 finish last week. She previously tied for seventh in October's Dale McNamara Invitational, marking the best finish by a Cowgirl in her collegiate debut since 2018.
- Including substitute Lucy Darr (a freshman from Stillwater), five of the six Cowgirls entries are underclassmen.
