Cowgirl Softball rally falls short at Georgia Tech
March 27, 2025 | Cowgirl Softball
ATLANTA – Despite a late rally, the No. 17 Oklahoma State softball team lost to Georgia Tech, 6-4, at Mewborn Field Thursday.
The Cowgirls dropped to 19-9 overall with the loss, and the Yellow Jackets improved to 20-13 on the season.
Georgia Tech turned three first-inning walks into three runs scored to take an early lead, then added three more runs to open a 6-0 lead through five innings.
OSU had only one hit going into the sixth inning, but the Cowgirl offense came to life in the sixth when with one out and Megan Delgadillo on first base, Rosie Davis singled through the left side, followed by a three-run home run by Amanda Hasler. Hasler has now homered in each of the last four games. The Cowgirls got two more runners on base in the inning following Hasler's blast, but left them stranded.
The Cowgirls got four runners on base during the seventh and added another run thanks to an RBI single from Davis, but a double play from the Yellow Jackets concluded the game.
Katie Kutz took the loss for Oklahoma State and dropped to 7-3. Sophia Voyles (8-4) earned the win for the Yellow Jackets, pitching for five innings with seven strikeouts and three hits allowed. Kinsey Norton grabbed her fourth save of the season. RyLee Crandall pitched three innings in relief for her first action in more than a month. She got two outs immediately after entering the game in the second inning, then kept the Yellow Jackets off the scoreboard in both the third and fourth innings in what was an encouraging return performance from the Baylor transfer.
Offensive standouts for the Cowgirls included Hasler (1-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs) and Davis (2-for-4 with an RBI.)
The Cowgirls return to action tomorrow at 5 p.m. for a rematch against Georgia Tech. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Varsity Network app.
