Cowgirl Softball secures road win over Georgia Tech
March 28, 2025 | Cowgirl Softball
ATLANTA – Ruby Meylan took a no-hitter into the fifth inning to lift the No. 17 Oklahoma State softball team to a 7-1 win over Georgia Tech at Mewborn Field Friday.
The Cowgirls improved to 20-9 with the win and the Yellow Jackets fell to 20-13 in defeat.
Head coach Kenny Gajewski shuffled the batting order in a decision that helped OSU produce its highest run total in four games. Prior to Friday's win, the Cowgirls had scored seven or more runs only twice in its previous nine games.
OSU scored at least one run in five different innings Friday, plating one in the second, third and fourth before blowing the game open with three runs in the fifth and adding an insurance run in the seventh.
Tia Warsop (2-for-3 with a triple, two stolen bases and three runs scored) and Amanda Hasler (2-for-3 with a double and a run batted in) were offensive standouts. Megan Delgadillo, who was a fixture in the leadoff spot until Friday, drove in two runs on a pair of sacrifice flies from the six spot in the lineup. For only the second time in the last eight games, OSU did not hit a home run.
One of the nation's premiere strikeout pitchers, Meylan found a different way to power her way through the Yellow Jackets, coaxing 12 ground ball outs in the contest to improve to 13-3 on the year with her seventh complete game. Tymber Harris took the loss for Georgia Tech in a game that saw the Jackets send seven different pitchers into the circle.
The Cowgirls return to action at 10 a.m. CT tomorrow when they take on Penn State in Atlanta. The game will not be televised or video streamed, but can be heard on the Varsity Network app.
