Cowgirl Softball outlasts Baylor in extra innings
March 23, 2025 | Cowgirl Softball
STILLWATER — A two-out walk-off home run from Amanda Hasler gave the No. 13 Oklahoma State softball team a 2-1 victory in nine innings against Baylor at Cowgirl Stadium Sunday.
OSU improved to 19-7 overall and 4-3 in the Big 12 with the win. Baylor fell to 13-19 overall and 2-7 in the league.
This marks the first extra innings win for the Cowgirls this season. Hasler's home run is the first walk-off home run since Karli Godwin did so against Texas A&M earlier this season and propelled OSU to a series win.
Ruby Meylan (12-2) came on in relief with a runner on in the fifth inning and secured the win by allowing three hits while striking out five in five innings of work. Lillie Walker (3-6) took the loss for Baylor.
The Pokes opened the scoring in the third inning when a hard grounder from Claire Timm made its way into left center to score Rosie Davis from third. The Bears evened the score two innings later when Brooklyn Carter singled home Karynton Dawon from second.
After Megan Bloodworth and Tia Warsop recorded back-to-back lineouts to start the home side of the ninth,
Hasler took a pitch and blasted it over the center field wall to secure the win. This is the sixth home run for Hasler, which ties the team-high this season.
Offensive standouts for OSU included Davis (3-for-3 with two doubles and one run scored), Hasler (2-for-4 with a home run). Davis is the first Cowgirl with two doubles in a game since Lexi McDonald at Arizona on May 24, 2024.
Today's attendance of 1,448 contributed to a new three-game series attendance record at Cowgirl Stadium of 5,096.
The Cowgirls are back in action for a mid-week game against Georgia in Athens on March 26, with a first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m.
